Morgan, Jon & I walked 5 miles today! We did the March of Dimes WalkAmerica with a team from Morgan's playgroup. It was lots of fun despite the 25mph winds down on the boardwalk. Morgan was so good and stayed in her stroller for about 3 miles and Jon carried her the other 2 miles when the wind in her face got to be too much. What a man! I can't believe we finished the whole thing! Yay, us!

So many questions

Morgan asks questions now. Lots of questions. Over, and over, and over again. Its really cute - the first 100 times she asks.

Last week her teacher was out sick. All week, Morgan asked "Where Miss Denise go?" at least 4 or 5 times a day. I was so happy Miss Denise was back yesterday.

We went to the pool the other day. Morgan & I were walking laps in the shallow end and we saw a lady exercising with water-weights on the other side of the rope. "What the lady doing?" Morgan shouted. Every. Single. Time. We walked past her.

Monday night in her bath Morgan grew concerned about "Where the water go?"

The water goes down the drain.

"Where the water go?"

Down the drain.

"Where the water go?"

It goes down the drain and into the pipes under the house and then to the

"Where the water go?"

Down the drain and into the pipes.

"Nemo go in pipes."

Thats right. Water goes down the drain and into the pipes like Nemo.

"Where the water go?"

I just told you, it goes down the drain.

Right. Into the pipes

"Underneath my house!"

You've got it! Down the drain, into the pipes under the house.

"Where the water go, Mommy?"

You tell me. Where does the water go, Morgan?

"Huh? Where the water go?"

And it went on like that until she went to bed. We even showed her the pipes under the sink which she thought was very cool. And then when she woke up the next morning, it didn't take her 5 minutes to start up again. "Where the water go, Mommy?" Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Baby Update - Week 27

Random Notes

My BabyZone calendar tried to give me a heart attack last night by telling me that I had 60 days until my due date. That is not true. We have 90 days to go. I counted. I can breathe again.

I have baby-brain. I have been so absent-minded lately. This weekend I threw away my cell phone. I thought it would be a good idea to empty all of the cracker and cheerio crumbs out of my diaper bag by turning it upside-down over the trashcan and shaking. But I forgot to empty the side pockets first. I figured out what happened eventually and got the phone back, but still felt like an idiot.

Morgan seems slightly less inclined to "hit baby" these days. (Although she did mention that she wanted to "eat baby" last week.) She like to point out all of the things that are "for baby brother", like our infant car seat, the diaper changing platforms in public restrooms, and baby toys. Its very cute.

No, we have not picked a name yet. But every time we watch a movie now, we keep watching all the way through the end credits hoping to be inspired. Maybe our baby will be named after the 3rd assistant grip on King Kong.

OB appointment next week. It seems like its been forever.

That is all for now!

What a day!

Boy, did we have a busy day today!
Morgan woke up early asking if the Bunny had come. He had.

Morgan found all the hidden eggs and her basket full of fun treats.

Then she ate waaaaay too much chocolate!

Aunt Karen came to our house last night too. Morgan may think that Karen is the Easter Bunny.

We spent the rest of the day at Busch Gardens. Morgan rode a bunch of rides!

She even went on the baby boat and bug car rides ALL BY HERSELF!!!!!! She is so brave!

I hope that the busy day means that Morgan sleeps well tonight. I know I could use a good rest!

I guess Morgan's chicken tetrazzini leftovers didn't agree with her last night because she threw up around 10pm. Ewwww! She mostly seemed confused by the barfing, but got very sad when we had to take her "butterfly covers" to the wash. But she slept okay the rest of the night and woke up around 6:30 like normal. We got her milk and brought her in our bed like normal. Then she barfed all over us. Or, as she would say "My tummy spit my milk in mommydaddy's bed." But she has seemed fine ever since them so we are keeping our fingers crossed that it is over.

Big Girl Bed

On a whim, we converted Morgan's crib to a bed today. She was very excited about the idea, but started having mixed feelings while the conversion was underway. But then we went to buy her a new butterfly bedding set and she was sold on the new bed. She played "night-night" in it all day. As you can see in the picture it is about a mile off the ground so we will be piling pillows beneath it before we go to bed. Hope she doesn't fall, though!

I used to think Baby-Morgan was messy - with all the spit-up and drooling and pooping everywhere. Then I thought One-Year-Old-Morgan was messy - the learning to feed herself, runny noses, and dragging toys all over the house. But these earlier versions have nothing - NOTHING - on Two-Year-Old-Morgan.

All of a sudden she's like Pig-pen! She goes through about 2-3 outfits a day. And that doesn't count all the times she just decides to take off all or some of her clothes. I think I spend about 60% of the day putting Morgan's clothes back on. If I can find them, that is.

No longer content to make a big mess in plain sight, Morgan like to HIDE things! Arrrrrrrgh! It is getting increasingly difficult for me to fish socks, shoes, and Beanie Babies out from under the couch, behind the bookshelves, between the washer & dryer, etc. The other day I found myself using one of those "phrases you never thought you'd say until you had kids": Morgan! Do NOT put your underwear behind the television!

In addition, I've had to start vacuuming several times a day! Morgan leaves a trail of graham cracker crumbs, playground sand, Play-Doh crumbles, and the remnants of breakfast, lunch, and dinner wherever she goes.

And vacuuming is hazardous! Its great to have a curious, intelligent child, but sheesh! Does EVERYTHING have to be disassembled? Morgan's favorite thing to do is to take apart pens. I fear the day I try to vacuum up the ink tube and it breaks. I know its going to happen.

I could go on and on about the mess Morgan makes, but I have to start cleaning!
